RocknRed Ragdoll cats are an intelligent and gentle breed, usually playing without extending their claws, and are known to have more “dog-like” characteristics than traits of cats. In addition to being excellent companions, they have a tendency to follow people around and feel at ease at being physically handled.

Personality & Intelligence | Ragdoll Cats are large breed “Teddy Bears” with ultra-plush and silky soft coats, similar to a rabbit. Their mellow, laid-back personalities make them the world’s best snuggling and napping buddies. They are truly your “lap cat!”

This unique breed is so docile they tend to “flop” in your arms, like a toy rag doll when held, hence their namesake. They also have a relative lack of aggression toward other pets.

In addition to being easy to train, RocknRed Ragdoll cats can play fetch, follow voice commands, stay off certain furniture or out of certain rooms, and quickly learn to use a scratching post exclusively.  

Grooming & Care | Ragdolls are a medium-long-haired breed but require minimal grooming to keep a beautiful, healthy-looking coat. Their luxurious coat is one of the most sought-after features. A Ragdoll will shed significantly less than most other breeds of cats, mainly because they lack a thick, dense undercoat that also reduces matting.

Ragdoll cats are also a very healthy hardy breed of cats with almost no health issues and most live to a ripe old age of 16 to 23 years. Adding a RocknRed Ragdoll cat or kitten to your home is an amazing and fulfilling experience that you and your family will never regret!

Combinations & Patterns | In most associations, Ragdolls are accepted in 3 patterns and 4 colors. The three patterns are colorpoint, mitted, and bicolor. The four colors offered are seal, chocolate, blue, and lilac (also known as frost).
           | A Mink Ragdolls’ coat color is much richer and darker than the point color of the traditional Ragdoll. In addition to the lush coat texture that feels much like a luxurious mink coat, a Stud Book Tradition (SBT), purebred, International Cat Association (TICA)-registered Mink Ragdoll is exactly that — a true Ragdoll.

Vaccinations | At RocknRed Ragdolls, we take the health of our cats and kittens very seriously. The vaccines administered will depend on the age of your cat or kitten and will be discussed before your purchase. All cats will have core vaccinations:  6, 9, 12 & 16 Weeks Panleukopenia (distemper)-Killed; Rhinotracheitis; Calicivirus; and 12 Weeks Rabies. We can also discuss optional Non-Core Vaccines with you, such as 8 & 12 Weeks Leukemia; 8, 10 & 12 Weeks FIV; and 9 & 12 Weeks Chlamydia.
